Sourse: Trendy Trimmings, Etsy
I just ordered baby Caroline a 3-d wall monogram to go above her crib and I'm going to go absolutely stinkin nuts waiting 4 weeks for it, but it will be worth it! I ordered off of Etsy, of course, from Trendy Trimmings, so when it comes, it will be unfinished, but we are painting it white and mounting it above her crib, exactly like the one shown above.
The first daunting step in getting her nursery ready is going to be cleaning out all the office furniture and junk that's in there right now. As you can see, it's sort of just served as a catch-all room for us the last few years so we have a lot of work to do and I'm ready to have it all finished!

Step one is to paint the walls, which we do have the paint already, just haven't done the work yet. We choose a pale pink color by Valspar called 'Hello Dolly'. I'd love nothing more than to paint the trim white, but my husband would have a heart attack if I did, so it's going to stay wood finish. Next, her crib and dresser need to be painted and moved in, but we haven't had decent weather enough days in a row for me to get them painted and dried. I have chosen the prints I want to go up on her wall, but still haven't stumbled across the right frames. I want white frames with a pale gray matte. And I'm definitely going to have one of these babies made to pair with the white frames...it's by Dumb Dog Designs on Etsy, but there are a ton of different styles if you search Etsy.

I've also had the WORST time trying to find a glider. I did find one on Babies R Us that I like, but they don't have it in stock in our local store, so I hate to pay that much money for a chair I've never even seen in person, let alone sat in. I definitely want the glider to be gray or white though, just have to find the right one for us. Next comes the rug, which will be gray. I'm thinking the one pictured below from Pottery Barn may be what I end up going with.
There will be a lot of finishing touches to add, too, like bedding. I'm going to attempt to make the crib skirt and bunting myself with fabric I got from the craft store. I found a good tutorial on how to make a ruffled crib skirt so I'll be sure to post how that one works out for me! I picked a gray seersucker, pink cotton and white cotton for both the ruffled skirt and the bunting her name will go on. I am by no means a seamstress so I'm praying that it goes well! And I'm still hunting for the perfect lamp to set on a small side table next to the glider. I know I want a white, ruffled shade, something akin to this one...
My husband is very hands off with the decorating of the nursery, he'll pretty much let me do whatever I want to do, so my goal is to make it pretty and girly, but not too 'baby'. I want it to be a room that can grow with our sweet girl effortlessly. We shall see if that goal comes to fruition over the next few weeks because I WILL have her nursery completely before the beginning of June...hopefully :)
