What I'm Reading:

Lowcountry Summer by Dorthea Benton Frank

This is one of the best books I've read in a few weeks. It is absolutely hilarious and completely relateable I would think for a large majority of people who grew up in the Southeast region. We all have a few nuts that have fallen from the family tree and Dorthea Benton Frank just captures the essence of those people so well. I would highly recommend this read :)

What I'm Loving:

Between teaching my tumbling students a few days a week, teaching classes at a local gym and doing my own workouts, I basically live in workout clothes during the week. Well, I just love the Lululemon Wunder Under crop pants. I've gotten my 2 pairs off of E-Bay for a steal from buyers who got the wrong size or just didn't like the color, etc. I will have to say, I prefer dark colors for my workouts bottoms. Nobody wants crack sweat that's visible...I do have a pink pair, but wear them only for lifting, not cardio.

What I'm loving for Caroline:

I used to carry Burt's Bees when I had my shop and their chapstick has always been the only one I use, but Caroline was gifted tons of Johnson and Johnson baby wash early on, so I just stuck with it. Well, she gets these little dry eczema spots from time to time, so I decided to try a more all natural product and I am loving the Burt's Bees baby line for her. Her hair doesn't get tangled now since I've started using it and I really love the way it smells. I steal the body wash all the time! You can find Burt's Bees pretty much everywhere now. I know Wal-Mart and Kroger carry it here in our town, but their products are great!

What I'm singing:

We LOVE musical theater and Wicked was at the Aronoff recently, so we went and I can't stop singing all the songs! It is hands down one of my favorite musicals we've seen! We've been three times and I just don't get tired of it. Juston, however, has no desire to see it a fourth time. haha.  Regardless, the music is great and I'm so happy we got to see it with my sister and her husband. If you ever get a chance to catch this show, you will not regret it.

What's Cooking:

Juston had one of his good buddies over to grill out the elk he got this season, and since I missed his friends birthday, I wanted to make something for he and his wife to take with them as a late birthday gift. I made chess pie from one of my Southern Living Cookbooks and it was really good. It didn't turn out like I wanted it to, but I messed up and covered the pie with foil trying to keep the crust from browning too quickly, so the inside didn't set as much as I'd have liked, but it still tasted really good. It's the first time I've had that happen to me and it's also the first time I've ever used a store bought pie crust instead of making it from scratch. Not a coincidence...Just kidding, I messed up but I feel better blaming it on the store bought crust.

What I'm looking forward to:

Lots of good stuff is coming up for us in the next couple of weeks! My sister and I are going for pedicures this weekend and I plan on hitting a Pure Barre class later in the day. Mama needs a day off! The sass is getting so real with Caroline, it's ridiculous! And the sassier she gets, the more my patience wears thin, so I need a day. Juston has finally gotten a draft of his next leadership book worked up, so I can finally have some time to myself for a day or rest and relaxation and possibly shopping ;)

We're heading down to Alabama for a long weekend in early April and absolutely can not wait to see some very good friends of ours. We basically consider them family and I think Juston has plans to hunt while we're there, so he's naturally excited! I'm judging a cheerleading competition somewhere in there, which is my element. I've cheered or coached cheerleading and tumbling since age 8 so it's in my blood. I hope to get back into coaching one day when the time is right. Until then, I'll settle for judging competitions and doing choreography. Coaching tumbling is really gratifying for me as well so I'm thankful to still have that connection working with athletes. Hope everyone is having a great week!
