Halloween

We had a great weekend celebrating Halloween this past weekend. There were a couple of different opportunities to trick-or-treat around town, so we took advantage and went to two events, the first indoors just in case the town's main trick-or-treat got rained out like they were forecasting.

Friday afternoon, the college where Juston works had an open trick-or-treat for anyone in the community to participate, so I dressed Caroline as Tinkerbell, her choice for the day and we headed over there. Juston had to be out of town for meetings, so he missed her all dressed up, but a lot of his co-workers got a chance to see her :)

I was happy she chose Tink since she could actually wear it without freezing since everything was inside. This was my nieces costume when they were little.

Saturday actually ended up being okay. It was sprinkling a little bit right before time to head out, but stopped just in time for all the kids to enjoy trick-or-treat and it was much warmer this year than it had been last year.

We only go to a few houses on mom and dad's street of the families we've known forever. We go at their house so that all the cousins can go together.

She decided about ten minutes before we were leaving what she wanted to be. She had her choice of Belle, a cat (which is what she'd originally told me she wanted to be), and this witch's costume. Well, it wasn't really much of a costume, just a $2 hat I got on clearance from Target last fall and some black leggings with a dress, but it worked.

She did really great saying "Trick-or-Treat" as well as "thank you". I let her have some candy last night, then put the bucket away before she got up Sunday morning. With that stuff, it's usually out of sight, out of mind and that way I don't have to hear her fuss if I tell her no about eating candy before breakfast:)

We all had a great time and were so happy that the weather cooperated. Sunday, I took down all the Halloween decorations and put them away, as well as tackling a couple of other projects I'll share later. I'm hoping to get my outside Christmas lights hung up this week since it's supposed to be in the mid-70's. Not to worry, I have no plans on turning them on until the day after Thanksgiving, but I'd much rather get them all strung up in the 70's than in the 40's, so I plan to take full advantage! Hope everyone enjoyed a fun Halloween weekend.
