Recipe: Blueberry Biscuits

Anybody out there a fan of Bojangles? Boberry Biscuits? Well, I came across a recipe for blueberry biscuits, basically the Boberry biscuits from Bojangles, and I had to try my hand at the recipe. Let me tell you, if you're a blueberry fan, you want to try this one out! While it's not something I'd typically recommend with baking recipes since they can be sensitive, I cut this recipe in half and it still worked out well, I just had to play with the flour amount to get the consistency right. 

Recipe (from Our State magazine):

In a large bowl, combine:
4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder

Cut in one stick of diced, cold butter until combined. Make a well in the center of this mixture and 
dump in 2 cups of blueberries, 1 3/4 cup buttermilk and 1 beaten egg. Mix all ingredients together until just combined. Turn the dough out onto a very well floured surface and pat or roll the dough out until it's about 1" thick. Using a biscuit cutter, cut the biscuits and place them, touching one another, onto a parchment paper lined baking pan. Top each biscuit with a pat of butter and a sprinkle of sugar. (You can also mix just a tiny pinch of salt in with the sugar before sprinkling).
Bake for 8 minutes at 475 degrees, then turn off the oven, but leave the biscuits in the over for 10 more minutes. Remove from the oven and top with almond glaze (recipe below).

Almond glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp almond extract

Combine all ingredients and drizzle over warm biscuits
