Milestones Reached:Giggles, rolling over from back to belly (this happened around 3.5 months) and rolling from belly to back both ways a few days after rolling from back to belly. His neck strength is improving so much. It's so funny when he holds his head up high and you see his little bitty neck. At least it's little bitty compared to the size of his cheeks and head :) Oh and his hair is finally starting to come back in. His head feels like a peach when you rub on it.

Most of my "free time" these days is spent pumping breastmilk for Carter, so I haven't done a very good job keeping up with the ole blog (I feel like every post I do nowadays starts this way ha!).  But I'm trying my best to keep up wtih the milestones going on around here and we had a big birthday on August 7th! Our sweet girl turned FOUR years old! Man, it's going by quick. I decided to do Caroline's party on Friday since our birthday fell on a Sunday. I had lots of things I wanted to accomplish and do for the party, but a lot of things didn't come together the way I was hoping they would. I know Caroline still had fun though and that's what my biggest hope was.

I gave her a list of options from Paw Patrol to princess and she ended up asking for a mermaid party, so that's what we went with. How cute is her cake! My aunt and uncle who own Magee's Bakery here did it for her and the mermaid on top matched the mermaid on her shirt perfectly.

I got the confetti from Etsy and had more thrown around out on the deck, which no one saw since it was hot as Hades and no one wanted to eat outside.

When she made her wish blowing out her candles, she said "I wish that my Mama would sniggle with me every night.". I melted like butter obviously :) We were so glad to celebrate our sweet girl with our family and friends. I didn't do very well getting pictures.

On Sunday, for her actual birthday, I'd made a pit stop by Gigi's Cupcakes and picked her up the Birthday Surprise flavor to have for her birthday breakfast. She was very pleased with my selection.

And since we share a birthday, Mama got a cupcake for myself, too ;)

We'd given Caroline most of her birthday gifts at her party, but decided to save the best for the day of her birthday, a brand new swing set. This bad boy was a doozy to accomplish. We ordered one from Wal-Mart online a few weeks before her birthday. It was due to arrive the Wednesday before her birthday and still had not arrived the day before her birthday. After calling for about the tenth time, Juston was told that it had shipped and arrived at our store in town, then when he told him they didn't have it, they proceeded to tell him it was out of stock. Annoyed was an understatement. DO NOT order from Walmart online if you want to get something timely or want decent customer service. I ended up finding a swing set in store at a Home Depot about an hour away from us, so Juston drove to pick it up, then stayed out in the yard until two a.m. putting it together by the light of his truck headlights. My job was to get out of the house to keep her form seeing it. We did a little scavenger hunt that led her to the swing set that evening once Juston had it finished. She was SO excited and has played on it every morning and evening since. Her reaction made the whole process of trying to get it all worth it. I just love this little girl more than I ever knew was possible. She is such a light to everyone she comes across and just had a knack for making people happy. She's so loved.

Panama City Beach

Tuesday, August 2, 2016

We just got back from the most amazing week in Panama City Beach, Florida! My whole family went and we rented a condo right on the beach and just had the best time! I was somewhat worried about how Carter would be on an 11 hour car trip, but he was so incredible and so was Caroline. We broke the drive up on the way down and stayed in Stone Mountain, GA Friday night, then met friends in Eufala, Al for lunch Saturday afternoon before heading on the rest of the way to the beach.
Here's a few shots from the pit stop in Stone Mountain. We didn't spend more than a few minutes in the park but are planning on heading back sometime soon to explore a bit more.

These are our sweet friends we go stay with sometimes at their farm in Alabama. They are some of the sweetest, most amazing people you could ever hope to meet! My parents got to meet us in Eufala and meet our Alabama family for the first time!

Here was the view from our condo balcony. There is just something about being on the water that makes me so very happy. It can be the ocean, lake, river, creek, it doesn't matter! I was suprised at how calm the water on the gulf is. I've been to Gulf Shores before, but never the panhandle and I already can't wait to go back!

RIP to my Nike flip flops that I've had since 7th grade! haha I took a walk on the beach one morning and left them by our walkway and they were gone when I got back. I think it's for the best.

We did family photos on the beach one evening just as the sun was setting and I can't wait to see them all! This is just a snap from my niece that she texted me. I'm thinking one of the actual high quality photos I'm going to make into a canvas for the house.

We got Caroline a kite while we were there since our cat tore up the one she already had. She and Camden had the best time flying it one evening. I had zero kite flying ability as it turns out, but my niece did a great job, luckily.

Carter only made the trek to the beach the evening we did pictures. He stayed in the condo with my parents of Juston most days when I took Caroline down to the water. I thought about doing a tent and putting him under it, but with the refelection off the sand and the heat, I just thought it was better leaving him in the room with someone. My mom isn't much of a water lover and my dad can't be in the sun much, so it worked out good for him to love on them while we got some quality time with Caroline.
One morning, while Juston and my nephew were off fishing, I loaded the kids up and made the 45 minute drive to Seaside, Florida. I'd seen an article about it before and decided if I was ever close, I wanted to see it in person. We only spent a couple of hours there, but I absolutely want to go back for a vacation. It was the most picture perfect little town.

Caroline had her first experience with mini golf on this trip and is so in love with it now! She asked if we could mini golf every night after we finished. Carter slept in the stroller the entire time and I got my workout carrying him in the stroller up and down the course stairs.
The first restaurant we tried was Pineapple Willy's, which was mediocre food and a super loud environment which Carter cried the entire time. The atmosphere was fun since it was right on the water and the wait wasn't too awful bad, but I probably wouldn't try it again. How cute are the kids little matching outfits?! Caroline got superman ice cream all over hers and Carter got poop all over his haha.

We found all sorts of cool seashells after a storm one evening.

This is the only picture of all the cousins I was able to get.

The sweet people who own the condo we rented provided the kids with beach toys to play with so Caroline took full advantage.

We had plans on riding a boat out to Shell Island one day, but once we got to the state park to catch the shuttle, we were told the wait just to get a shuttle was over an hour. Since I have to pump every two to three hours, we decided we'd just forego the island and hit the beach at the park instead and it was so nice. We found a little spot where there weren't any waves and the water was the perfect depth for Caroline to be able to wade around a pretty big area. It was so beautiful!

I snapped this pictured on our last morning before we left. It was such a fun vacation and I always look forward tot he big family trip every summer. I can't wait to see where we end up next summer.
