Whatever Wednesday

Welcome back to another edition of Whatever Wednesday and happy first day of Summer! The days are going by faster than I can keep up it seems, so my blog has been put on the backburner a bit, but I'm popping in for a bit today!

What I'm Obsessed with:

No big surprise here; I'm obsessed with this perfect little chick.. She has the sweetest heart of anyone I've ever known and I'm not just saying that because she's mine. I feel like she's grown and grown up so much since I had Carter. She handles everything with so much grace for such a little lady. Currently, she's loving gymnastics class, swim lessons, spending every minute of summer with her cousins, going to the park, playing and checking out library books and helping me cook. She does this thing right now where if she wants me to pick her up, she says "Pick up truck" and when she wants down, "Dump truck" Don't ask me where she came up with it because I have no idea, but I love it and I love her so, so much.

What I'm Wearing:

Okay, I know it needs ironed, but how cute is this dress from Sugar Boutique?! I posted about it last week after I ordered and I love it even more on. IT's very flattering and fit was true to size with what most other brands I wear are. I got a small. There were still a couple in stock last time I looked. It's by Karlie.

What I'm Watching:

I've watched this smutty show since episode one and I'm not ashamed to say I love it. I initially started watching for the scenes of my favorite city, but quickly fell in love with this hot mess. My opinion on this season: Shep's a mess and needs to get his life together, the act isn't cute. Cameran is my favorite and I want to raid her closet. Also, cutest pregnant lady. Kathryn seems to have gotten herself on the right path and I'm hoping this is her come back. I love a good come back story. I love Chelsea and hope she's picked up as a cast member next season. Craig and Naomi are cute, but they are getting on my nerves with all their issues. Do y'all watch? Thoughts?

What I've been up to:

That's my headshot for my real estate ads and business cards. It's a pretty slow market in Maysville right now since the announcement of the impending closing of a coal fired power plant that is a major employer in our area, but I have been doing quite a few showings recently (I started with my brokerage in late February), I have my first listing, have had one property close and have another under contract so things are going great! I'm learning a lot but not away from the kids more than a couple of hours a week, so this is a decision that I am so glad I made. I considered getting my license back when I was pregnant with Caroline, but put it off. I SO with I had gone ahead and started back then, but I'm glad I'm doing it now. It's a pretty lofty goal, but I'd like to save a very large portion of whatever I make working until we can afford to buy a house on the lake or near Charleston. It'd be a place for us to get away to pretty often, but I'd also like it to be income generating when we're not staying there. It's a few years off at this point obviously since it's still a dream, but something I'm really interested in pursuing. I'd love to have a place my family could get away to for everything they do for myself and the kids, too, so that would be another great bonus.

Happy Wednesday, y'all!

Recent OOTD's

It's been a while since I posted some outfits, mostly because 90% of what I wear is workout clothes, but on the occasion that I do get gussied up, I try to snap a selfie so I thought I'd share here a few outfits from the last few months as well as sources.

Dress: Nordstrom (Wayf brand) | Shoes: Tory Burch | Bracelet: Bourbon and Boweties

I love, love, love this dress! It's so pretty and feminine with the lace details. I wore this for Carter's first birthday party.

Dress: from Red Clover Boutique in Savannah (www.shopredclover.com) | Shoes: Tory Burch Miller sandals

Dress: J Crew (runs on the smaller side and is SUPER see through) | Necklace: Beaufort Linen Co.

Dress: Asos (old) | Shoes: Lilly Pulitzer | Bracelets: Bourbon and Boweties

Romper: Ribbon Chix (in Murray, KY but brand is Buddy Love)

This romper rans pretty small. I normally wear a size small in most brands, but needed the medium in this and it fit well. You can wear it off the shoulder as well and it has pockets.

So there ya go, some recent outfits. I'm hoping to do a better job of documenting some fun outfit inspiration and sharing it here. I love to shop and I love to find outfit ideas from other blogs. Happy Monday!

Five on Friday

Hopping right into this super late edition of Five on Friday!

Hoe cute is this simple floral arrangement for a summer tablescape?
I found it via Southern Lady Magazine's facebook page and here are the instructions on how to make your very own, along with other options to use as your base like a pineapple or lemon. I'm going to attempt a variation of the watermelon at our next cookout.

The pretty kitchen from The Cottage Journal caught my attention as I was scrolling Facebook as well. I love how bright everything is, but also how the bold colors in the runner and the wood in the pendant lights above the island balance all the white. It's basically the kitchen of my dreams.

I ordered this adorable dress from www.scsugar,com earlier this week and can't wait to get it in the mail! I'm thinking it may end up being what I wear for our family beach photos here in a few weeks. They've got lots of other super cute new arrivals on their website right now as well. Sugar is one of my go-to online shops for cute clothes for myself.

I just finished up a book that I've been ready for the better part of the last month and a half. I usually try to finish a book every two weeks or so, but I just don't know where the time gets away to every day. It's like I wake up, I blink, then it's bedtime. Anyway, I've got this book on my nightstand ready to start tomorrow.

Has anyone read this book? Thoughts?  I'll be sure and share my opinion on it when I finish it, but I remember they adapted this book into a television show a few years back and I loved the show. It only lasted one season, but I'd never read the book, so I figured why not?

We are trying a new spot for family vacation this year, North Topsail Island in North Carolina. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd really appreciate them. I'm beyond excited to get back to the coast. I feel like I belong at the beach. Every time we go, I can't find a good reason why we don't live at the beach, or at the very least, live much closer to it.
