Thanksgiving Day Outfit Ideas

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

I wanted to post some Thanksgiving day outfit ideas today for anyone who likes to plan holiday outfits ahead of time like I do.  It's probably weird, but I love to plan mine and the kids outfits weeks in advance when holidays or events are involved. Maybe I need another hobby or something haha. Anyway, here's some outfit ideas I pulled from my closet as options for our Thanksgiving day feast, obviously featuring lots of stretchy britches and roomy tops ;) I've linked items that are still available below the photos and some do include affiliate links.

We will be having our Thanksgiving meal at my parents house like we do every year, but I'll be making some of the dishes. I'm doing corn casserole, mashed potatoes and the pumpkin cake I make every year; it's Paula Deen's recipe for Gooey Butter Pumpkin cake, I'm sure you can google and find it, but it's so much better than pumpkin pie if you ask me.

Poncho, old from Tuckernuck (similar) | Black Leggings | Striped Turtleneck, old from Old Navy (similar) | Riding Boots

Sweater by Lilly Pulitzer | Printed pants are old from Copper Penny in Charleston | Driving Moccasins, old but here's a similar option

These meme below pretty much sums up this post in it's entirety.
What's your Thanksgiving attire usually like? Do y'all keep it simple and comfy or is your family dinner a bit more formal? We're laid back, but I still like to feel pulled together, so hopefully whichever outfit I choose will accomplish just that :) Also, I'm saving any Christmas related content for AFTER Thanksgiving! I can't stand how it's crammed down your throat so early these days. I feel like so much of it has zero focus on the actual reason for the Christmas season, so we save our Christmas for after the turkey.
