I've surrounded myself with people I love and trust and who I know will love this sweet little baby. Pregnancy Pet Peeve: People touching my stomach. How far along? 15 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: down 3 pounds from where I was when finding out I was pregnant Maternity clothes? So far, all of my clothes still fit, but mostly because I wear yoga pants most days. I can still button my other pants though. Stretch marks? How far along? 16 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: down 3 pounds from where I was when finding out I was pregnant Maternity clothes? Not yet...ordering things I can wear now and after baby, not maternity specific things Stretch marks? No, but started using my Mustela Maternity b/c I'm starting to see my belly! Sleep: Like a baby :) Best moment this week: Finding out sweet baby is a GIRL! Miss Anything? Crossfit. I'm wasn't consistant enough with it pre-pregnancy to be comfortable doing it now Movement: I'm not really sure! haha I thought I felt her move the other morning, but I don't know for sure Food cravings: Not really been craving anything specific lately, except maybe Caesar salads Anything making you queasy or sick: Not a thing. Gender: Baby Girl Symptoms: Itty bitty bump, stomach aches under my belly button which they tell me is the ligaments stretching to accomadate the growing baby. Gender: Baby Girl Symptoms: A growing belly and occasional movement Happy or Moody: Happy Mama :) Pregnancy Pet Peeve: The second I see someone who has either just found out I'm pregnant, or hasn't seen me since finding out, they automatically look at my tummy to see how big I'm getting! haha I don't even think people know they're doing it, it's just a natural reaction Looking forward to: Deciding on a final design for her nursery Please excuse my horrible hair in the picture from this week! It was after a three hour cheer practice, which can get rough on a coach the week of a competition! haha
How far along? 18 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: down 2 pounds from where I was when finding out I was pregnant Maternity clothes? No, but I am going to have to invest in some shorts soon because it's heating up in KY! Stretch marks? No, but I live in fear every day of finding them. Probably still too early to worry yet Sleep: I sleep good once I'm asleep, but sometimes it takes awhile to go to sleep. I've always slept on my tummy which is starting to get more difficult Best moment this week: Shopping for some SUPER cute things for Caroline...a smocked sleeper, monogrammed blanket and hat, shoes, socks :) Miss Anything? Not really at the moment, but soon I will miss sleeping on my tummy Movement: Not with any regularity, but from time to time, I can feel her fluttering around in there Food cravings: Any kind of fruit Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope Gender: Baby Girl Symptoms: A growing belly and occasional movement, some days I get tired no sooner than I get up Happy or Moody: Happy, especially when I get visits from special friends who live out of town, which is happening twice this week alone! Just lots of maxi dresses with the weather warming up Stretch marks? No, but I live in fear every day of finding them. Probably still too early to worry yet Sleep: Pretty normal. Didn't get much sleep this week, I was keeping the interstates hot Best moment this week: After worrying that I hadn't really felt her move much, she moved around for about 10 minutes last night when I was going to sleep :) Miss Anything? Ham in my eggs Movement: Not really during the day but if I lay on my left side, I can feel her sometimes Food cravings: I can't express how bad I've wanted chicken minis from Chik fil a for about the last 2 months and STILL haven't gotten there before 10:30. But other than that, the usual fruits and just got these AMAZING pineapple fruit popcicles by Edy's Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope Gender: Baby Girl Symptoms: Pain started this week in the left side of my lower back, probably because I always sleep on that side Happy or Moody: Happy, happy, happy! I got to see SO many of my very best friends this week that I haven't seen in a long time since they live all over the country. So to get to see them all in one week was incredible and made me feel so blessed! Rings: On Belly Button: In Pregnancy Pet Peeve: The fact that I get out of breath so easy doing random things like the laundry even though I work out all the time Looking forward to: Our 20 week ultrasound in 2 weeks! So I guess technically, it's our 21 week ultrasound. Can't beleive it's practically already halfway over. It's worth noting, I don't actually look as pregnant as I do in this picture, just look at the one from last week haha! But I sort of like it, so I used it anyway.
How far along? 20 weeks! Officially halfway, or 5 months; this is really flying by! Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Back to the weight I started in Week 8, so I've now gained the 5 pounds I had lost Maternity clothes? Not yet, but the Maternal America maternity jeans I got from Sugar are seriously comfortable...I think I may wear them from now on haha Stretch marks? Nope Sleep: I seem to still be falling asleep pretty easily and hope it continues! Best moment this week: Our trip to north Georgia wine country, although probably not the first place a pregnant woman would choose to go, we really just spent our time hiking around some of the trails in the Unicoi National Forest and shopping in the local boutiques. This is our last planned trip before the baby gets here unless we decide to take another one spur of the moment. Miss Anything? Cuddling up on my tummy. I feel like I can't do it anymore without squishing the baby Movement: I'm starting to feel her more and more. I think I was expecting to feel that without a doubt, Caroline was flipping around in there, but her movements seem to be more subtle most of the time. Food cravings: I FINALLY GOT CHICKEN MINIS!!! Thank you Chattanooga, TN! Anything making you queasy or sick: All the junk we ate on our trip left me seriously not wanting to eat out ever again. I loaded up on fruits and veggies as soon as we got home Gender: Baby Girl Symptoms: Still some pain in my lower back, feeling some movement, and it's possible that my "pregnancy brain" is kicking in....either that, or I'm as scatterbrained as I always have been but can now blame it on pregnancy ;) Happy or Moody: Feeling very blessed each and every day. Rings: On Belly Button: In Pregnancy Pet Peeve: I can't really think of one... Looking forward to: We have a routine ultrasound this Thursday to check up little girl's progress. I can't wait to see her sweet little face for probably the last time until we see her in person, and I pray each and every night that she continues to grow healthy and that everything will be normal.
How far along? 21 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012, my early prediction is that she will arrive on July 22, 2012 Total weight gain: none since my last doctor's visit Maternity clothes? Not yet...still just yoga pants and maxi dresses and one trusty pair of J Crew khakis that still button :) Stretch marks? No...my Mustela is worth the price so far Sleep: Like a rock! Best moment this week: Our 20 week checkup...seeing all of Miss Caroline's limbs, organs, and other parts all healthy and in working order! She is currently breech and anterior, neither of which they tell me is dangerous or abnormal. She will most likely flip from the breech position at some point. Miss Anything? Still miss being comfortable working out harder like with Crossfit or P90X, but it's not worth it if it's something that could hurt the baby, so I just workout with Pure Barre, which is amazing, and walking as well as some light weights Movement: She is very active after I work out, as well as at night. The doctor said I shouldn't expect to feel her until later since she is anterior, but I do feel her with quite a bit of regularity now. Food cravings: Nothing really specific lately. Still trying to eat very healthy and limit sweet treats. Anything making you queasy or sick: Still no, hopefully that won't change. Gender: Baby Girl Symptoms: Movement, still occasional back pain, mostly on days I don't work out or sit for too long Belly Button: Still in Rings: On Happy or Moody: Happy. Finding out the baby and myself are both healthy is reason enough for everything to be right with the world, at least for today :) Pregnancy Pet Peeve: The tummy touchers are coming out in full force! It happened to me twice in one day. I'm going to start touching back now haha Looking forward to: Non-Baby: The UK vs UofL game is today, or as it's now being called, the second Civil War! Baby: Stripping and re-staining the dresser and crib for the nursery this week or next. I'll post pics as we get started on the nursery, but it's my goal to have it finished by mid to late May. Oh, and I'm starting a Preggercise group fitness class at a local fitness studio in town, Burn Personal Training. There are LOTS of pregnant people around these parts, so hopefully we'll have a great turnout for it!
How far along? 22 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up half a pound since last week Maternity clothes? Wore my first pair of maternity jeans today and they are WAY more comfy than regular jeans! Stretch marks? Still not yet, hopefully not ever. My mom never got them, so I'm praying it's genetic Sleep: Still a pretty normal sleep schedule. Some days I get pretty tired around dinner time, but most days are pretty normal. Best moment this week: A few of them...first is Kentucky winning the NCAA championship game! It's been a big week in the Bluegrass obviously. Next, having to buy a C cup bra for the first time in my life! haha And then, my Preggercise class went great! We had a good turnout and people seemed to really like it, which is of course my goal in teaching group X classes. Miss Anything? Being able to put on some of my favorite dresses with it getting warmer. I LIVE in dresses and flip flops in warm weather and some of my favorites have a natural waistline so they look funny on me now with my baby bump growing. Movement: Lots! She's flipping around more throughout the day now. She has been moving around at night for a couple weeks now, but she's becoming more and more active all hours of the day it seems. Food cravings: I've been really wanting sweets this week, big time. Cadbury caramel eggs will be my downfall. I'm trying to resist as often as possible, since I know she's starting to taste the things I'm eating now and I want her to crave healthy foods, not junk. Anything making you queasy or sick: Some smells I find offensive more than before, but not to the point that they make me sick. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Baby on the move, growing bump, feeling hungrier some days than others and occasionally getting tired easier Belly Button: Still in Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: I have felt moodier this week...mostly, I find that I've had less tolerance for people in general. It's sort of come in passing spurts and mostly, I still stay very happy, but I have noticed getting annoyed easier the last week. Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Getting tired after simple things like spending the day at the mall or driving more than 30 minutes Looking forward to: Another Preggercise class this week :) and celebrating Easter with my family tomorrow! I'm making a big brunch and my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law and their kids will all be coming out to our house to celebrate after church! Easter is one of my absolute favorite holidays! Next Easter will be a big one, too, with Caroline celebrating her first. It will be so much fun putting her basket together and getting her all gussied up for church. I already see a big ruffled dress and matching bonnet in her future:)
How far along? 23 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up 2 pounds total Maternity Clothes: Just my Maternal America dark wash jeans Stretch marks? Mild panic attack one morning this week when I thought I'd found a stretch mark on my tummy, but thank the Lord it was just a pillow crease! Sleep: I sleep great, but I have had some of the strangest dreams lately, and some random nosebleed in my sleep one night, too. Best moment this week: Juston can't feel her move and kick yet, but he could feel her pressed up against my stomach one morning. We also booked our Belly to Baby photo shoot with an amazing photographer out of KY/ WV. Our maternity pics will be mid-June and this girl's work is AMAZING! I'm so excited about these! Miss Anything? Ab workout Day Movement: My little gymnast is all over the place nowadays, still mostly at night, or right after a workout. Food cravings: Today, anything in the house haha! My indulgence of the week will be the cream soda floats we're making after dinner tonight. Other than that, I don't buy junk so it's not in the house and I don't eat it in a moment of weakness. Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not a thing. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: I've been super hungry the past couple days so I try to chug water to keep from eating everything in sight, and I've noticed that with changing the time of day I've been doing my workout, I don't get tired in the evenings either, which is awesome! Belly Button: Starting to look a little odd, but still very much in Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: Been back to my happy self this week after feeling a bit moodier than normal last week, thank the Lord. Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Pregnant women who eat like crap! That's going straight to your child, clean up that diet! Looking forward to: Getting started on our nursery. We've finally settled on paint colors, which we picked up at Lowe's this weekend and the weather is perfect for getting our crib and dresser painted up and moved in! I'll post pics as we get started on the nursery of our progress. It's our goal to have it finished by the end of May! Didn't do a fruit picture this weekend, mostly because I ran out of time, but the picture above shows the bump pretty well :)
How far along? 24 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up 3 pounds total Maternity Clothes: Just my Maternal America dark wash jeans and I found the most amazing non-maternity foldover linen pants from Blue Door last week! They are perfect for during and after! Stretch marks? Nope, still using my Mustela and saying lots of prayers. Also, I have a theory that the more water I drink, the less likely they are to come since water helps with skin elasticity. Sleep: No weird dreams this week, and still sleeping regular. Best moment this week: Caroline's daddy got to feel her kick a few nights ago! It's the first time and he's the first person to feel her move besides me. She's a very active baby at night, not really much throughout the day still. She's going to be a night owl like her mama. Miss Anything? Pure Barre classes in Lex. I just can't make myself pay the full amount for a class and not be able to do any of the ab section which is like 20 minutes of the 55 minute class. Movement: Yes, and now other people can feel her, should I decide to let anyone touch my stomach haha. Food cravings: Nothing really specific this week. Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not a thing. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Appetite seems to be back to normal, less hungry hungry hippo this week since I've been drinking so much more water. Belly Button: Starting to look a little odd, but still very much in Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: Great mood :) Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Looking forward to: Made her first pair of barefoot baby sandals this week, so my next project is making the ruffled crib skirt for her room.
How far along? 25 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up 8 pounds total according to the doctor's scales Maternity Clothes: Nothing new, aside from my 2 pairs of Maternal America jeans Stretch marks? Not yet, hopefully not ever. Sleep: Sleeping great! I think keeping a regular exercise scheudle helps me a lot with this. Best moment this week: Had a check up with the Doctor Friday. Juston couldn't make this appointment so my parents went with me. They got to hear the baby's heartbeat when they came back with me. It's the first time they've heard that since they never got to go to any appointments with my sister. Everything at the check-up was healthy and normal! Miss Anything? I really miss sleeping on my tummy and my back. No one told me before getting pregnant you were regulated to sleeping on your side only for like 5 months! Not that it won't be worth it, but I'm a tummy sleeper! Movement: She's been pretty lazy this week, only really moving around at night and not kicking too much, but the doctor said she'd be starting to sleep more and more the bigger she gets so it was normal, then there's still the anterior factor, which means alot of her movements aren't going to be felt. Food cravings: Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream was my splurge this week...Ben and Jerry's of course. Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not a thing. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: The back pain I was having has been gone for a while now and aside from gaining some baby weight, I don't really have any other symptoms. Belly Button: Still in Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: One happy mama...did lots of shopping for the baby this week aaaand maybe a little bit for me, too :) Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Really, it's the random people rubbing my stomach Looking forward to: Our vacation to Charleston and Myrtle Beach coming up this month (May)! My poor hubby doesn't get to go because he has to go to a conference, but it'll be me and the rest of my family which should be a blast!
How far along? 26 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up 9 pounds total Maternity Clothes: I managed to squeeze into 2 dresses this week with zippers, but it's probably mostly stretch fabrics from here till August for this chick. Stretch marks? No Sleep: Great...the more the better! haha Best moment this week: Getting new stretchy maxi dresses in the mail :) And the most AMAZING lace waist pants from Victoria's Secret...seriously, every pregnant woman needs them! Miss Anything? My clothes that don't fit right now:( I have some of the cutest summer dresses that will not be coming out of the closet this summer...Luckily The Blue Door keeps me feeling better by finding great long dresses for during and after baby. And I'll miss sleeping on my tummy until I can do it again, but it's a small price to pay. Movement: Her kicks are starting to have a little more oomph to them when she decides to start moving around. She's doing more throughout the day than she has been now, at least anytime I sit still she does. Food cravings: Ice cream would be at the top of my list. Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not a thing. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Besides a growing belly that seems to be getting bigger by the minute, I don't experience a whole lot of other symptoms. At least none yet that are prominent enough for me to notice. Belly Button: Heading out for sure. The top half is out and the bottom half is still in. Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: One happy mama... Pregnancy Pet Peeve: I don't really have one this week. They seem to strike me the more time I spend in public though haha Looking forward to: My shower is coming up in two weeks that my mom and sister are having for me. I can't wait to see all my friends and family that will be coming in for it :)
How far along? 27 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up 9 1/2pounds total Maternity Clothes: It's my goal to get by wtih just the 2 pairs of pants that I've bought, plus gotta get some shorts for our beach trip. Other than that I don't want to waste money on clothes I can only wear for 2 months Stretch marks? No Sleep: I've been so blessed to have continued sleeping great. Some mornings I wake up and my hips ache a little bit, but most days I work out, I don't have it as bad. I'm sure it'll only get worse over the next couple weeks. Best moment this week: Celebrating my first Mother's Day :) At least, soon-tobe Mother's Day. My husband got me the sweetest card and Shari's Berries that I've been dropping hints for for the past few weeks. Miss Anything? A flat tummy but I'll get it back soon enough and in the mean time, it's sort of fun not having to worry about your belly hanging out. Movement: She seems to only move when no ones around to feel her doing it. Her daddy has still onyl felt her once and my nieces spent the night just to feel her kick around, but she didn't move a bit that night! Food cravings: Nothing really this week. I have the dreaded sugar test in a little over a week, so I'm making a real effort to lay off any sweets I've been eating lately. Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not a thing. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: My tummy is starting to itch a little bit on the sides, I guess from where it just keeps growing. My appetite is still normal most days and my energy level is great as long as I do some sort of exercise every day. Belly Button: Won't be long now, I don't think. The top is totally out. Not sure if the bottom will be able to pop out or not from the appendicitis stitches I have in the back of it. Rings: Still on and fitting like they always have Happy or Moody: One happy mama :) Pregnancy Pet Peeve: People who have had kids and insist on saying "oh you just wait," in response to anything positive. Like if I say I don't feel uncomfortable or anything about feeling good, they give you THE LOOK and just can't resist it..."Oh, you just wait." Well, every pregnancy and woman is different, so I guess I will just wait and see if they were right. Most people are really encouraging but there's one in every crowd. Best Moment this Week: It's a very good thing I have a sense of humor....I was getting dressed for church Sunday and my youngest niece was looking at my dress, which was houndstooth print. She said, "Nena, that dress is awesome!!! It looks like a cow!" Her sincere excitement made it impossible for me not to wear my cow dress haha. I laughed so hard. Just what every pregnant chick wants to hear about the outfit she's getting ready to put on! Looking forward to: My baby girl has her shower this coming Sunday compliments of my sister :) I can't wait to see everyone! I know most of my out of town friends won't be able to make it in since it's such a busy time of year for everyone, but I hope most of my sweet friends can make it!
How far along? 28 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: Up 9 1/2 pounds total Maternity Clothes: Still just getting by with the 2 pairs of pants I've had forever Stretch marks? Nope, Thank ya Lord! I'm getting to the home stretch now so I'm really hoping I can make it through without them. Sleep: Starting to wake up more through the night either because I have to pee or because some nights my hips hurt. One night this week, I woke up at 2am and never went back to sleep. Maybe my mind and body are preparing me for what life will be like once the baby gets here. Best moment this week: Definitely Caroline's baby shower today! I got to see so many people who are important in my life and will be important to hers as well. Knowing that all of these people already love Caroline and have never met her and it's so very humbling. My cup runneth over :) Miss Anything? There are nights I'm creawling into bed that I want to lay on my tummy soooo bad I can't stand it! Who would have thought I'd miss that more than pretty much anything else? haha Movement: She has been SUCH a wiggleworm this past week. I think she must move most when I sleep because the night I woke up at 2, she moved from then until abotu 8am non-stop. No wonder I think she doesn't move much, I'm always knocked out when she is! haha Food cravings: Nothing in particular. I made the most amazing banana pudding this week though and it hit the spot! Anything making you queasy or sick: Apparently, nail polish fumes Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Belly button is popping out, along with my belly itself obviously, had a dizzy spell this week, too while I was getting a pedicure. Belly Button: Won't be long now, I don't think. The top is totally out. Not sure if the bottom will be able to pop out or not from the appendicitis stitches I have in the back of it. Rings: Still on and fitting like they always have Happy or Moody: One happy, humbled and blessed mama :) Best Moment this Week: My sister and mom put on the dawg today at our baby shower! We had a great turnout with some amazing people in attendance. There was amazing food and fellowship and I wish I could spend time with those people every weekend like I got to today! I can't wait for this baby to see how loved she is! Her daddy brought in a very special gift as well, he made her a cradle! I'll be sure to post pictures of his handywork once they are downloaded. Looking forward to: Beach Baby! Heading to Charleston and the beach this week for Caroline's first vacation with the family:)
How far along? 30 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012 Total weight gain: I haven't weighed since before we left on vacation...I'm honestly afraid to haha Charleston and dieting don't exactly mix, but I didn't go too crazy Maternity Clothes: Not really...I lived in dresses and my bikini the last 2 weeks we've been on vacation Stretch marks? Nope, still using my Mustela and drinking water religiously hoping that that, combined with good genes will be enough Sleep: Sleep great, but usually wake up around 2 and 6 to pee. Not usually any problem going right back to sleep though so it doesn't really bother me Best moment this week: I got to spend the last 2 weeks with my family! We went to Charleston and Myrtle beach and had the best time! Caroline really seemed to love Charleston because she moved more than she ever has while we were there! Good thing since she'll be spending lots of time there over the years Miss Anything? Ummmm just the usual stuff like tummy sleeping, ham in my eggs and the other things I've mentioned. But I have to say, not worrying a bit about having a flat tummy at the beach was pretty nice for a change. Next summer will be a different story, so I'm living it up while I can Movement: She moved around a ton all day and night while we were in Charleston, then once we hit the beach, she relazed like her mama! She did her usual night and morning moving around and not so much during the day. Food cravings: I wanted Jestine's Kitchen's pecan crusted fried chicken and sweet tea so bad I couldn't stand it! If you're in Charleston any time soon, you must go and try this! Also, my Chik Fil A saga continues...I wanted my chicken minis something awful on the way home from the beach so I kept waiting and waiting on the drive home to eat breakfast knowing we'd pass on in SC someplace! Finally, 10 am rolled around and we still hadn't passed one, so I grabbed something at the gas station when we stopped. Litereally, within 15 minutes of me eating, we passed SIX chik fil a's after not passing a single one! Are you kidding me?!!? Anything making you queasy or sick: No, not really. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Belly button is popping out, along with my belly itself obviously, but no more dizzy spells this week thank the Lord! Passed my sugar test last week, too so feeling much better! Belly Button: Still about half in and half out. It feels and looks SO weird! Rings: Still on and fitting like they always have Happy or Moody: One happy, humbled and blessed mama :) Best Moment this Week: The whole week was great at the beach, but one of the highlights was going to the outlet and racking up for her at Carters, then hitting Kids on King in Charleston and Miss Masters in Myrtle Beach and finding some adorable smocked dresses Looking forward to: Getting the nursery finished! I feel like such a slacker! Juston painted her room while we were gone so at least that's finished, but it's still filled with furniture that has nothing to do with a nursery and the rest of our house is a disaster with all the baby's things from the shower in every single room. I can't finish the nursery until Juston finishes the beasement which may be a while. It's really stressing me out not having her room ready at this point!
How far along? 31 weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012, my prediction is that she'll come July 22 though Total weight gain: 13 pounds Maternity Clothes: My maternal America cropped jeans and white capris. Stretch marks? Nope Sleep: Wake up every few hours but I go right back to sleep Miss Anything? Sunbathing all day. I still get in the pool, but have to wear SPF 70 just to be safe and I try not to stay out more than an hour. I miss shaving my legs being easy as well haha. Movement: Lots and lots! I love it. She's moving around much higher now too. I can feel her kicks right around my rib cage. Food cravings: I don't really crave anything specific lately. I do love that all the Farmer's Markets are opening up because I've always loved fresh fruits and veggies, so I'm excited to hit those! Anything making you queasy or sick: No, not really. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Nothing aside from the obvious, really. My feet get tired after i've been on them running around all day, but I'm sure that's just the extra weight. They don't swell or anything so that's good. Belly Button: Same...halfsies Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: SO happy and excited! Best Moment this Week: FINALLY making progress on her nursery...walls painted, crib assembled, bedding and rug picked out, glider in but not recovered yet and gathering her wall decorations. It'll be done in another week or two hopefully Looking forward to: Classes...childbirth and breastfeeding so I'll have some idea about what the heck to expect when she decides to arrive! This is one thing I can't imagine just going in to wing it, but we're running out of time! haha Also looking forward to her next and most likely final ultrasound next Tuesday. Aaaannnnd, we have maternity pictures this coming Friday!!! Juston is probably not excited about this at all, but he'll behave since he knows how excited I am about them!
How far along? 32 weeks, or 8 months! Due Date: August 11, 2012, my prediction is that she'll come July 22 though Total weight gain: 15 pounds Maternity Clothes: Not really, more or less just my swim suit and jersey knit maxi dresses Stretch marks? Nope, almost made it to the home stretch so I keep a hopefuly heart that they stay away from me! Sleep: Most nights I still sleep really well. I am starting to have more pain in my hips and back from sleeping on my sides all the time, but once I get up and start moving, it usually goes away. Miss Anything? Most summers I typically tolerate the heat and humidity of Kentucky weather so much better than I am right now! I seem more like a wimp about it now that I'm getting so pregnant...still have the hottest days ahead of me so I guess I better suck it up!Movement: She's actually getting more and more active throughout the daytime hours now and you can actually SEE her moving around if you look at my stomach. It's the oddest thing! Food cravings: I've been craving sweets a lot, but that's probably more my sweet tooth than anything to do with pregnancy. Anything making you queasy or sick: No, I'm pretty sure I'm past that stage. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: I feel some stiches in my upper abs when I stretch, presumably from the heaviest part of my baby bump pulling down on those muscles. Some mornings I wake up with a sore lower back, but I just have to walk it off! Belly Button: Same...halfsies Rings: On Happy or Moody: So happy. I had a day or two last week where I felt pretty easily annoyed with most people, which unfortunately usually means family members since they're the ones I'm around every day and the ones who tolerate moodiness, but I know the chicks in the family understand and overlook it :) Especially since I haven't been too bad at all this whole 8 months so far. Best Moment this Week: Celebrated both Father's Day and my newphew's birthday today, got to spend some time with the whole family together which is always fun. My nieces and I tried to conquer a fondant birthday cake for my nephew, which we actually ended up spending two days on. I love working in the kitchen with them though....making memories and the cake turned out pretty fun, too, and definitely tasted great! Looking forward to: Unfortunately, or maternity pictures were postponed, so hopefully we'll get them done this week sometime...still waiting to hear about when they'll be. We have an ultrasound in two days as well and my mama, sister and nieces are all going to come. I got to go to all three of my sisters ultrasounds with her kids, so I'm glad to be able to have everyone along for this last one. I can't wait to see her little face!
How far along? 33 Weeks Due Date: August 11, 2012, but thinking it'll be a slightly early arrival Total weight gain: 17 pounds Maternity Clothes: Not really, summer is great for being pregnant most of the time because I spend it in the pool Stretch marks? Nope, almost made it to the home stretch so I keep a hopefully heart that they stay away from me! Sleep: I have trouble going to sleep occasionally because I start thinking about all that we have left to do haha But other than that I still sleep really well Miss Anything? P90X. and Crossfit...I'm so excited to be cleared once she's here so I can start them up again Movement: She's not moved around nearly as much this week as she has the last few, but they say that's pretty normal since she's getting bigger and has less space with which to move Food cravings:Oh my gosh, I've wanted otter pops SO bad for the last few days so I finally went to Wal-Mart and got some yesterday! I crave those every summer though so that's probably not really pregnancy related. Anything making you queasy or sick: No, I'm pretty sure I'm past that stage. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: The pain on my right side has gone away. Doctor said it was a result of being front heavy and the pain originated from the back adjusting to the weight load, but always manifests itself in the front right side...go figure Belly Button: Same...halfsies Rings: On Happy or Moody: Happy :) Best Moment this Week: Had a 32 week check up complete with ultrasound that my WHOLE family went with me for! We were quite a sight taking up the whole exam room haha but My parents, sister and her kids all got to see the ultrasound. Her little face and limbs, her heart beating and we could even see her hair! It was awesome. All looks perfectly healthy, thank God. And, on another exciting note, the crib skirt project is officially complete!!! I love it, it looks exactly how I wanted it to, maybe better. Now it's on to re-covering her glider and ottoman and painting the dresser. Possibly making crib bunting with her name if the mood strikes me. Looking forward to: Hate to jinx myself by even saying it, but maternity pictures are suppossed to be tonight. We have a new photographer coming to us from Lexington so I'm hoping and praying that she shows up tonight! If not, I'll just call my sister up and have her do them tonight! haha One way or another, we will get them done tonight!
How far along? 34 Weeks...8 1/2 months! Wow, this has flown by! Due Date: August 11, 2012, but thinking it'll be a slightly early arrival, which means it'll probably be September haha Total weight gain: 18 pounds Maternity Clothes: Nope, just hanging out in the pool...it's been in the 100's for the last week! Stretch marks? No, but heading to Babies R Us this week to re-stock on Mustela! Sleep: Sleeping very well. Lord knows I need to now since everyone says I won't ever sleep well again for the rest of all time! haha I think some people are dramatic. Miss Anything? Oh just my usual workout routine and not feeling large and in charge in a bikini. Might as well enjoy letting my belly hang out while people think it's cute. I won't have this excuse next summer! Movement: Been a bit more active this week than she was last, plus, for the first time ever, she's had the hiccups! Food cravings: Nothing really in particular. Already thinking ahead to my clean eating mode I'll be in after baby girl arrives Anything making you queasy or sick: No, I'm pretty sure I'm past that stage. Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Some hip soreness right after I get up...and of course, I've been nesting like a mad lady! But the house looks great! Belly Button: Out a little more than it was. My niece is constantly poking it which drives me insane! haha Rings: On Happy or Moody: Happy :) Best Moment this Week: Feeling her have the hiccups! It was just so cute :) Looking forward to: Praying for a good checkup this week, hopefully getting carpet laid in our basement, which means getting the rest of the office furniture out of her room, which in turn means FINALLY finishing her nursery!!!
How far along? 35 Weeks today :) Due Date: August 11, 2012 fingers crossed for late July Total weight gain: 18 pounds Maternity Clothes: Nope, just hanging out in the pool and the air conditioning...coming to the end of a second week of record heat...every day in the 100's for the last two weeks. Stretch marks? No....hoping to ring it on home without them! Sleep: I still sleep great and am so thankful that I can. I know a lot of people have trouble the closer the due date gets due to discomfort so it may not be that way long, but I'm happy that I do for now at least. Miss Anything? Nothing that I'd trade for this whole experience. It's temporary and with anything I miss, it's good to remember that "This too shall pass" Let's hope I can remember that very thing in labor! haha Movement: She's definitely going to be a little night owl like her mama. She likes to sit up high and to the right a lot of times, but she's moving with a lot of frequency. The fourth of July fireworks had her jumping around in there! Food cravings: Not a whole lot other than my usual foods I eat all the time. I have to say, other than strawberries and grapes, I haven't really had what I would call "cravings" that a lot of women say they get. Anything making you queasy or sick: Not a thing Gender: Baby Girl, Caroline Leeann Symptoms: Hips and lower back hurt when I first get out of bed. Getting up in the mornings reminds me of cheering at NKU a couple of years ago...Everything snaps, cracks and pops and it takes this ole girl a while to get going, but once I'm up, I don't feel the soreness. I was also notified so sweetly by my sister that apparently I'm now waddling, which I suppose would be a symptom. Belly Button: Out and seems like I'm hitting it on everything which HURTS! Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: Happy :) Pregnancy Pet Peeve: What is it about being pregnant that makes every woman, even the ones I don't know, want to tell me their horror stories about their pregnancies or their labor. That, and they love to give you unsolicited advice about anything and everything. I'm going to be sure NOT to do this once I'm on the other side of the fence unless asked to, and even then, I will think twice. Best Moment this Week: Getting her nursery wrapped up! I still have a few more little things to do, but everything I wanted is either in the room, or due to arrive early next week. We also had a great checkup at the Doc and got to tour the maternity floor of our hospital, meet some of the staff and get the lay of the land. I'll get pictures up as soon as the details are finished :) Looking forward to: Meeting our little belle!!! It will be here so soon, I can't even really wrap my mind around it. I've honestly not minded being pregnant at all. It's been a great experience for both of us and the rest of my family. Obviously, I'd heard the horror stories, but there are so many people who would do anything to be able to be pregnant, why anyone would complain openly about it is beyond me! It's easy to get lost in the aches and pains or swollen ankles or how hard it is to bend over to tie a shoe or shave your legs, but (hopefully) this pregnancy is something you hoped and prayed for. I try to think of it that way anytime I'm tempted to complain about something.
How far along? 36 Weeks...starting to freak out about the impending due date! Due Date: August 11, 2012 and I can't imagine how much bigger my tummy can get at this point Total weight gain: 19 pounds Maternity Clothes: Maxi dresses...I'm pretty proud to say I've gone through this entire pregnancy and only bought 2 pairs of maternity pants...everything else is just clothes that are stretchy fabric with empire waist or big t-shirts with yoga pants. I can even still manage to squeeze into my Soffee shorts when I feel like it Stretch marks: No, but I feel like the longer I go the more nervous I get every morning when I check. I'm staying hopeful, but I can't imagine how much more my tummy can stretch. I already feel like she could pop out at any moment haha Sleep: Not as great this week, but still not bad...my hip pops every time I turn from one side to the other and naturally, I have to wake up to pee, but usually only once a night, thank the Lord. It's more that I have trouble going back to sleep after I wake up in the middle of the night. I start thinking about the fact that the baby will be here SO SOON and freak out a little bit. Miss Anything: Being comfortable sitting down was a luxury I never realized I was taking for granted. Movement: I swear, she moves more now than she ever has. Seems like she gets the hiccups every day at least once now that she's discovered them. She also loves to ball up high on my right side. Food cravings: Not really food, but I've wanted water soooo bad all day every day! Anything making you queasy or sick: Not a thing Symptoms: Lots of pressure in my stomach, hips and back are staying sore more throughout the day now and that pain on my right side under my ribs is back with a vengeance! I'm in the home stretch now though, time to suck it up! Belly Button: Out as much as it'll go with my belly button appendicitis scar. The bottom can't pop out haha Rings: Still on Happy or Moody: Happy :) Pregnancy Workout: I wish I'd thought to do this forever ago, but oh well...I walk for about 20 minutes every night, do a 10 minute leg workout in the pool every day and do an upper body weight routine about 3 days a week. Just a circuit to hit every major muscle group in the upper body. It's something different every time and I always just use my 10 pound dumbbells. Pregnancy Pet Peeve: People who think "fat" comments or jokes are acceptable to pregnant women. Not funny Best Moment this Week: We had the sweetest girls host a baby shower in Paris for us this week. It was a great time! Looking forward to: Sharing her nursery with everyone! My parents saw it finished for the first time today and so did my sister and nieces. Naturally, now that it's finished, I've decided it's not finished and I want to add bunting to the crib, which is almost finished, and my favorite scripture on canvas to one wall, so I guess it's technically still not finished...but it's my original version of finished. I think I missed my calling doing interior design, it is just so much fun! Pinterest has turned me into a project-a-holic. I can't stop taking on new projects, most of which involve my mom's, dad's or husbands assistance haha.
How far along: 37 Weeks...baby girl was officially full term yesterday! Due Date: August 11, 2012...getting lots of predictions from the family about her arrival though...I say July 22nd (which isn't looking correct), Juston thinks August 1, my mom thinks August 1, my sister originally said July 25, but has changed her mind and now thinks August 2, my dad has made no predictions and my nieces want her here yesterday. My opinion is that she's going to show up when she's good and ready haha. Total weight gain: 19 pounds Maternity Clothes: Just the couple pairs of capri pants, regular yoga pants with the fold-over waistband pulled up (looks amazing!), and empire waisted, long dresses. Shorter dresses are slightly indecent at this point since they raise up so much in the front. Stretch marks: Nope...fingers crossed, Mustela usage upped and praying my good genetics will carry me just a bit further until she's out! Sleep: I have still been sleeping pretty well, but this week, I can honestly say I've felt pretty worn out for the first time this whole pregnancy. I could honestly take a nap about an hour after I get up for the day, but I am just not a napper typically. Miss Anything: I legitimately breath like a 400 pound asthmatic running a marathon while I'm taking my walks at night. Baby gets more room than lungs evidently. I have to admit, I'll miss feeling her roll around and wiggle in my tummy when she's out. I told Juston, it will be pretty odd to NOT have her in there since I have been feeling her move around for so long now. Movement: I swear, she moves more now than she ever has. Seems like she gets the hiccups every day at least once now that she's discovered them. She also loves to ball up high on my right side. Food cravings: My sweet tooth has been taking over this week...probably because it knows it's days are numbered! Mostly, chocolate seems to be what I want, which is odd since it would typically be ice cream. Anything making you queasy or sick: I've not really been feeling red meat much the last few days, but I wouldn't say it makes me queasy. Symptoms: Lots of pressure in my stomach, hips and back are staying sore more throughout the day now, had two nosebleeds this week (What the Heck!) and my gums have been more sensitive than usual when I floss. Oh and the bottoms of my feel hurt pretty bad, I guess from the extra weight they're not used to carrying around! Belly Button: Out as much as it'll go with my belly button appendicitis scar. The bottom can't pop out haha Rings: I did take my rings off this week. They were still fitting fine, except after I would walk or exercise, then they started feeling a little bit tight...tight enough to make me nervous and go ahead and take them off just to be safe. I'd really hate to have to take them off at the hospital. Happy or Moody: Happy but pretty worn out, too! Pregnancy Workout: This week, I've just been walking for about 20-30 minutes at night and doing some easy peasy leg exercises with my ankle weights. I will be so happy to get back into a regular, challenging workout routine as soon as I'm allowed to! Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Not that I think pregnant women are entitled to any sort of special treatment that regular people shouldn't get, but I was at the post office this week, clearly waiting in line while sealing up my package when this rude older man cut right in front of me. Seriously?? Pregnant may not equal special treatment, but a little common courtesy is always nice pregnant or not. Labor Signs: Nothing that I would notice, but at my appointment I was 2 centimeters and 50% effaced. Best Moment this Week: Nursery completion...check. Looking forward to: Meeting our baby! There's so much that my husband and I talk about wanting for her in so many aspects of her life and I feel pretty ready to be a mama, at least as ready as I could feel. Good thing we don't have long to wait now!
How far along: 38 Weeks...stiiilllll pregnant Due Date: August 11, 2012...looking like that'll be the day she comes, too! haha Total weight gain: 18-20 pounds...depends on the day I weigh. I always weigh the same time of day and before I eat or drink, but it has fluctuated this week those two pounds Maternity Clothes: still the same 2 pairs, maxi dresses, a couple maxi skirts, yoga pants and my swimsuit Stretch marks: Nope...I just pray it stays that way because I feel SO much bigger than I have up to this point! Sleep: Not so great this week. I have trouble going to sleep because I keep waiting for some sign that the baby is getting ready to make her arrival. Then once I get to sleep, I wake up almost every hour to pee, which I hope means she's dropped and ready to come out VERY soon! Miss Anything: The list grows, but I'm still so excited for baby girl to get here. It'll be worth missing every little thing when we get to hold our healthy baby girl one day very soon! Movement: She has slowed down a lot this week...obviously running out of room (I started to be cheesy and put womb there, but I controlled myself haha) Food cravings: Nothing really. Not been very hungry lately since I fill up so easily. Baby room trumps stomach room in there I reckon. Anything making you queasy or sick: Does the thought of labor and delivery count? haha Symptoms: LOTS of pressure in my stomach, hips pop and hurt, sore feet but still not swelling, feeling more tired than I have been Belly Button: Pretty well out there Rings: My rings are off :( I feel naked without them! Other than to clean them, I haven't taken them off in nearly five years. They weren't too tight yet, but I could tell it wouldn't be long. Happy or Moody: Still very happy and thankful, but sort of over being pregnant and ready to just have her here! Pregnancy Workout: Slowing down, but still trying to stay as active as I comfortably can. Walking every night it doesn't rain, swimming my laps and doing some leg work in the pool and used ankle weights quite a bit this week as well. Thinking that during the time I'm not allowed to workout after birth, I can strap those ankle weights on for some light resistance work. Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Labor Signs: 3 cm and 75% this week, what I think were Braxton Hicks contractions since they didn't lead to anything else, lots of pressure low in my tummy and I think the baby has dropped but I'm not really that sure. Lots of symptoms, but still no baby! Best Moment this Week: Just trying to enjoy our last days as a family of two (four if you count the puppies, which we do) before the baby decides she's ready to come out. Lots of nights "in" just making dinner together and talking about what lies ahead for us! Looking forward to: Baby Day! Is it here yet???
How far along: 39 Weeks...are you kidding me? Due Date: August 11, 2023...at least that's what it feels like Total weight gain: 18 pounds last time I weighed Maternity Clothes: still the same 2 pairs, maxi dresses, a couple maxi skirts, yoga pants and my swimsuit Stretch marks: Nope but it's probably going to be inevitable once I hit the 45th week of pregnancy which is rapidly approaching Sleep: Eh...not terrible but not great. A lot of up and down through the night. Miss Anything: My normal body, in particular my boobs and stomach. I'm not a fan of feeling huge anymore. I didn't mind letting my preggo belly hang out, but now I'm ready to get back my abs. Movement: Not much...she's just messing with me at this point making me think she's going to come out. Well played, baby. Food cravings: Ugh, I don't even really like the thought of much anything these days. When I already feel like my tight as a drum tummy is going to pop like a balloon, it's hard to be too awdul hungry. Anything making you queasy or sick: No, just not hungry in general for the most part. Symptoms: Hugeness, Pressure, my poor old sore hips, fake contractions occasionally, back pain, general discomfort existing, tired of still being pregnant (I was warned I'd hit the wall and this week I officially did it) Belly Button: Pretty well out there Rings: My rings are off :( Happy or Moody: Not gonna lie, been a real b*tch this week! I'm just so over being pregnant. I set myself up to get to this point though because I was convinced I wouldn't still be pregnant when August rolled around. I thought I'd hit 37 weeks and go any day after that if not sooner...again, well played, baby. Pregnancy Workout: My daily walks are pretty much it these days. Pregnancy Pet Peeve: Still being pregnant haha just kidding...sort of Labor Signs: 3 cm and 80% at the beginning of this week, loss of mucus plug, lots of pressure low in my big ole tummy and I think the baby has dropped but I'm not really that sure. Lots of symptoms, but still no baby! Best Moment this Week: Hoping that'll be tomorrow when we celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary! We went to St Lucia for our honeymoon so I always make a Carribean dinner, same one every year. Jerk pork chops, coconut fried shrimp, spicy rice, and coconut lime souffle. Looking forward to: Our anniversary, which is August 4 and my birthday, which is the 7th. I LOVE birthdays, especially when they're mine:) They always mean homemade ice cream, my parents birthday specialty!!!
